How it started
From a frustrating dinner to a platform.
In 2022, our founders were at a restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. The menu was dog-eared and missing half the specials. The waiter couldn't answer questions about allergens. The ordering process was slow. It was 2022 and the experience felt like 1995.
They knew the technology existed. Tablets were powerful and affordable. AI could answer ingredient questions fluently in any language. Real-time menus could be updated from a phone. None of it was in restaurants — not because it was impossible, but because nobody had built it properly.
Tablette was founded to fix that. We started with Romanian restaurants, proved the model, and have been expanding across Europe since. Today Tablette is live in over 500 restaurants, processing millions of orders every month.
